Jingles & Santa ! Happy Holidays from Anacortes Living!

December is my favorite month of the year because it is the best time to buy a new home and spread the holiday cheer! December comes with so many exciting local events! It’s a great time of year to bring the community together and meet new people.

That being said‚ÄĒ you will not want to miss any of the lovely local events going on throughout December in Anacortes, WA.

December 4th we had our annual tree lighting ceremony officially kicking off this lovely holiday season. If you missed this, don’t worry many more events are soon to come!

December 6th, Anacortes school district is putting on a gingerbread house contest. Guests can join the festivities with crafts and snacks for sale and children are welcome to join in on the gingerbread house fun.

December 11th-12th, Wonderland Walk is being held at Washington Park. Take a walk through the festively lit park created and inspired by different local groups.

December 16th brings another must see.The 5th annual Celtic Christmas celebration! Watch the Seattle Irish Dance company along with several different live bands.

The Jingle Bell Dash will be held December 19th this year, make sure to bring your kids! Santa will be waiting at the finish line.

Finally, Habitat for Humanity is looking for Christmas volunteers to help with constructing houses during this holiday season.

November Activities and Events in Anacortes

November is here in Anacortes, Washington!

Can you believe it‚Äôs already November here in Anacortes? This year has seemed to fly by and along with the holiday season comes plenty of things to do in Skagit County, Washington. The Anacortes Community Theater is concluding their 51st season with their final show of the year: ‚ÄúThe Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.‚ÄĚ With tickets only costing $18, it makes a perfect outing for a fun night. The Anacortes Art Commission has their First Friday Art Walk on November 6th; don‚Äôt miss seeing the wonderful work of our local artist community! The ‚ÄúSalish Sea Art Exhibit: Life on the Saanich Peninsula B.C.‚Ä̬†will also be featured on the weekend of the 6th at the¬†Anacortes Depot Arts & Community Center.

The Anacortes Art Commission

The 12th annual Brewgrass! event, a mixture of local bluegrass and microbrew lands on the weekend of the 13th and 14th. That Saturday we also have a vintage market at the Port of Anacortes!

November holidays give us the Veteran’s Day ceremony on the 11th with several guest speakers and music from Skagit Swings band and finally, Thanksgiving, on November 26th, brings a plethora of good eats with our locally owned restaurants.

It’s Christmas time in the City!

…In the air there’s a feeling of Christmas!

Come to the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce tonight and celebrate the holiday season with the lighting of the Anacortes community Christmas tree at 6pm!  Special guests will be performing holiday music and refreshments will be provided by the Anacortes chapter of the American Red Cross.  Santa Claus will be stopping by to join in the fun and to take photos too!

If you are sticking around downtown this evening, don’t forget to check out the Anacortes Art Walk from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.

The Anacortes Waterfront Festival!

The Anacortes Waterfront Festival will celebrate its 23rd year on June 2nd and 3rd from 10am-6pm!

Everyone loves the Anacortes Waterfront Festival!

Come enjoy this marine inspired arts-and-crafts fair in Anacortes with live musical entertainment, a great food court, a variety of family events, and FREE admission. ¬†The Anacortes Waterfront festival includes a community “big-top” tent to educate Anacortes Waterfront Festival visitors and others about Anacortes’ long marine history.

This event will also feature a “quick and dirty” boat building competition/race and a kayaking competition. ¬†A Waterfront Festival kickoff dinner is always held the Friday night prior to festival weekend. ¬†Tickets are vailable from the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce for $50.

The hours of the Festival are

Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ‚Äď 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, 10:00 a.m. ‚Äď 5:00 p.m.

    On April 14th at the Port of Anacortes historical warehouse, over 30 wineries and 6 restaurants will gather to give people a chance to experience the local food and wine.

    Enjoy The Anacortes Wine Festival from 12pm-4:30pm!  Tickets will be $45 at the door and $25 for designated drivers.  The price of tickets include wine tastings, a keepsake glass, food tastings, live entertainment amd lots of fun!  Designated driver tickets include food and entertainment.

    Tickets will also be available for advance purchase directly through the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce or through http://anacortesspringwinefest.eventbrite.com/.

    Price of tickets purchased in advance will be discounted to $40 and $20 for designated driver tickets.
